Recent allegations have been made against the hair brand TRESemme with customers claiming their hair is falling out. The specific product from this brand is their keratin shampoo and conditioner. This product is advertised as a product that is able to smooth frizz with the protein keratin. 

This product contains a contain a preservative called DMDM hydantoin, a formaldehyde donor. Cosmetic products use formaldehyde donors to extend shelf life and prevent microorganism spoilage. DMDM hydantoin is a popular cosmetic preservative, most frequently used in shampoos, at concentrations up to 1%. Scientists have conducted studies and have found that DMDM hydantoin causes dermatitis in those allergic to formaldehyde. A new study conducted found that the longer these chemicals are stored and the higher the temperatures increase this than increases hair loss and scalp irritation. 

Thousands  of customers have voiced a complaint about their reaction to using these products. Customers experience hair falling out resulting in large bald spots. Others complained severe irritation. Instead of using products from this brand try other drug store brands such as Olaplex, Living proof, or Amikia for better hair fast.
