Beckham Lacrosse is a very well-known program, however, just like any other sport the girl’s team is less praised than the boys. I sat down with the lead scorer on the Beckham girl’s team, Mia Weis. Mia is only a freshman and has greatly impacted her team. Mia says, “My brothers got me into playing lacrosse in Charlotte. My favorite thing about being on the team is getting to know more people and playing alongside my friends. She says the best way to earn respect being a freshman on varsity is to be a team player.” Mia is involved in Lucy Beckham sports, runs all sports clubs, and is an active member of FCA, AMA, Key Club, and Stuco.
