Spring Forward Getting Ready for LBHS Sports in March

Annie Wilbourne

Out on the field, Beckham is gearing up for spring sports. Soccer is kicking off their season, and the girls are off to an impressive start. This weekend, the girls took home their first title as a team, the Viking Cup. The girls swept the teams they played all weekend, and came out on top with a win over Mauldin. Head Coach Tocrasio says this tournament is “preparing them for the journey” towards the state title, and the girls are “going to be ready to go for the rest of the year” following this big accomplishment. Coach also says that the girls are calling it “Redemption Road” and their ultimate goal is “to win the state title and beat JI”, who they lost to in the Lower State Finals of playoffs last season.

Lastly, girls and boys lacrosse is getting started after a huge season last year. The boys are on the road to defend their state title, and have already been proving themselves as one of the best teams in the state. They dominated in their first conference game over James Island, 17-4. The girls also topped James Island with a 20-2 win. This season is also full of more games for the boys, competing in many out of state tournaments across the south. This is all upcoming for the month of March, which will hold a lot more action in spring sports for Beckham!
