T Swizzle
When thinking of music different people think of different things, you probably think of your favorite song, artist, or even a concert you went to. Music can make you emotional in many ways. For example, Taylor Swift uses great vocals and guitar solos to wow the crowd. Taylor’s music usually makes a crowd excited and can bring back a note of nostalgia. Whereas Rap music, made by artists such as Snoop Dog and Drake, can let the artist express their thoughts on current events, like wars, problems in their communities, or just their life in general. This music generally moves people to be motivated or lets them vent.
So without further ado, here are LBHS’s top five music artists in order.
- SZA is in fifth place and for good reason. SZA’s most recent and popular album was released on Dec. 9, 2022. This album took the internet by storm, taking over the TikTok for you pages, YouTube videos, etc. Having more than $400 million streams in the United States alone, this album reached number one on top of 200 on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022.
- In fourth place is Arianna Grande. Arianna’s music is made special due to her amazing vocals and talent in the music industry. Her top song, “Side to Side,” released on Sept. 9, 2016, shows Ariana’s amazing vocals alongside Nicki Minaj.
- In third place, is Zach Bryan! Zach is a country star who is known for his debut album titled “American Heartbreak” which entered the U.S. Billboard 200 at number five in June of 2022
- In second place, is the band, “The Grateful Dead.” This band was started in 1965 with its original members, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Ron McKernan, Phil Lesh, and Bill Kreutzmann. “The Grateful Dead” is popular because they have a unique music style that sets them apart from other bands.
- Finally, as you probably guessed, Taylor Swift is LBHS’ most listened-to artist. One reason is probably that she has the ability to move people in different ways. “Swift has the…ability to convey emotion and create captivating worlds through her storytelling.” (Clarke, 6)
