On Saturday, Sept. 23, a dog wash fundraiser was held by the vet club with all proceeds going to Lakeside Animal Rescue. The event lasted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and included fun, music, and food. The fundraiser was started by a student last year, which made $800. There has been $5,000 made since that fundraiser. Many brought their adorable dogs out so the vet club could wash off their summer coats. The package included clipping toenails, full wash, blow drying, and brushing. Ms. McCarrell explained what she liked about the fundraiser: “It brings all walks of life together and students run the fundraiser to practice.” There were also many fun activities while the dog’s parents waited for their dogs to be washed. These activities included face painting, bean bag toss, pike ball, and snow cone food trucks for a quick snack break! There were also some puppies up for adoption roaming around. In the end, the vet club was able to make $1,387 in cash for the Lakeside Animal Rescue.
