Molly Seifert is a sophomore at Lucy Beckham High School. She is in her second year of varsity volleyball and her third for varsity basketball. She is not only a talented athlete but also a dedicated student. Despite the demanding schedule of practices and games, she manages to maintain an impressive GPA of 5.1. Her commitment to both her academics and sports is truly inspiring. Off the court, Seifert is known for her infectious energy and positive attitude. She keeps her teammates feeling positive and motivated by always cheering and motivating them to push their limits and achieve greatness. Her passion for sports is evident in every move she makes, and her love for the game is contagious. She likes playing both volleyball and basketball because she likes playing with two teams and gets to experience having different teammates and coaches. Her mindset coming into this coming season for basketball is that she wants to win a lot, they grow better individually and as a whole, and that they win region. She sets high goals for herself and her team, and is ready to put in the hard work to achieve them. She approaches every practice and game with a positive attitude and hunger for improvement. She is excited to compete, challenge herself, and make unforgettable memories on the court. She has learned that to win games you have to have teamwork. To have teamwork you have to be able to trust them and rely on them when you’re not giving it your all. She keeps her teammates feeling positive and motivated after a loss by being energetic and cheering. She stays motivated and focused during both seasons with her teammates and coaches help. When her coaches give her criticism so she can be able to perform to the best of her ability she tries to implement what they have to her into how she plays. She takes it as an opportunity for growth. She has a growth mindset and sees feedback as a chance to improve her skills and become an even better athlete. She listens attentively, absorbs the advice, and implements it into her training. Her ability to accept criticism with grace and use it constructively sets her apart as a truly exceptional athlete. She plays two different sports and still tries to balance that with hanging out with friends and family. So to balance her personal commitments she tries to maintain good time management. Her 23-24 Volleyball season, she averaged 410 assists as a setter. They ended the season with an overall record of 15-2. They were 1st in AAAA Region 7, and won regional championships. She felt excited after winning because it was the first time they have won. Mental health is an aspect of being an athlete in high school, you have to balance your academics and your game. The way Molly handles the mental aspect of competition is she employs various strategies such as visualization, positive self-talk, and mindfulness exercises. These techniques help her stay focused, confident, and ready to perform at her best when it matters the most. Seifert is truly a remarkable multi-sport athlete, excelling in both volleyball and basketball. Her impressive GPA of 5.1 is a testament to her dedication and hard work not only on the court but also in the classroom.
