I started by asking Reagan whether she was in Orchestra. She responded, “Yes, I play violin.” I asked if she did any sports or clubs and she said, “Yes, I’m in Key Club, student council, and FCA. I also play volleyball and I’m on the track team.” When I asked how she started these sports, she said, “I played softball from third grade through fifth grade, but then I thought volleyball would be more fun so I played volleyball all through middle school. I also did beach volleyball. At the same time, I always did the conditioning for track and this year I will be doing that as well.”
I asked about her life outside of school, and she said that she enjoys “reading and hanging out with my friends, especially going to the beach.” I asked if she believes we have too much homework for our school, and she responded, “I always think the homework should decrease, of course, but there are times that I am grateful my math teacher gave me extra practice so I don’t fail the test coming up.” This, of course, makes sense so I asked her how long she thinks homework should take. “I think it should take up to or less than an hour,” she replied.
For our closing question, I asked her if she were a color, what color would she be? She said she would be “bright pink or yellow,” which I agree with. Her energy throughout our interview was very positive and I really enjoyed talking with her.
