Simmons Family House Fire

On Saturday, September 10th, 2022, the lives of Asyria Washington and Braquel Simmons were changed forever. 

A PlayStation 5 caught fire and destroyed everything in their childhood home. Their rooms were utterly demolished, and they lost everything.

“The Ps5 caught on fire which caught onto the curtains, which caught onto the walls and then got on the roof. My brother was in the room when it happened,” she said. The fire, unfortunately, destroyed all of their belongings including clothes, shoes, money, and other personal belongings. On the day of the fire, Asyria was sleeping when her sister came into her room frantically waking her up. Asyria woke up to a growing fire in her father’s room right next door immediately grabbed a sweatshirt and ran outside. Before they could genuinely gather what was happening, the fire had already destroyed half of their home.

There is currently a gofundme set up in hopes of being able to replace most of their personal items.
