Friday, Aug. 25, our Beckham football team crushed Wando with a score of 43-0. This game was held at the Wando D2 stadium and the Bengals showed up packing the student section with white-colored clothes. The two-point conversion at the start of the game shifted the momentum for the Bengals, and fans went crazy. Students were crowded together in the bleachers screaming and cheering on their team, everyone too excited to even sit down. On the Wando side, it was even more congested, and one could see kids in black trying to escape over to the Bengal side with no luck; they were escorted back to their own side. It was equally as exciting for the alumni watching this new school crush a 50-year-old school. It might be a relatively new rivalry but it’s a strong one.
