The upcoming 2024 Lucy Beckham varsity lacrosse season is right around the corner, and tension is high with the team having won the last two 4A state championships. Everyone is wondering what will happen with a new team this season, as last year was the first team with graduating players. Coach Parker Ferrigan has done a lot for the boys in the past 4-5 months in preparation for the season, including getting his players time in the weight room with Coach Rupp, helping them to get stronger. Ferrigan has also gotten the team together during school hours to build relationships. The team is blessed with a very talented group of coaches who support and guide their players through the season.
According to Ferrigan, one of his biggest goals as a coach is to maintain a strong relationship with all of his players, ranging from the youngest freshman all the way up to the seniors he has coached since they were in their early years of lacrosse. With LBHS moving up to 5A next year, people aren’t sure what to expect of the lacrosse team. This season could determine their strength as a program or if they have not been playing at their level of lacrosse.
This will be the boys’ last season with their beloved Coach Ferrigan as he has taken another coaching position out of state, so these next 3-4 months are going to mean more than anything to the team and even more to Ferrigan. The school hopes for a great season for the boys and to leave Coach Ferrigan with 3 state titles to remember when he continues on his coaching journey.
