The Lucy Beckham Wrestling season has recently come to an end. We interviewed freshman Ryan O’Shea and the Bengal Beat and found out what it is like to be a part of the team as someone new to wrestling. Ryan describes that his favorite part of being on the team is that everyone helps each other. and while also mentioning the team’s positive environment. Ryan said, “My favorite part about being on the wrestling team is The way the people on the team have each other’s back and are always there for each other.” Even though the season was not ideal the team still showed support toward each other. Not only is the team very supportive of one another, but they also are constantly pushing each other to do the best they can during matches and practices. Ryan says that “All the people on the team are very competitive and they push me to be my very best”. Like any sport, there are different reasons why people start wrestling. Some people do it for fun, while others start sports to stay in shape. Or in some cases to pursue a future career. Ryan says that the reason that he was inspired to start wrestling is that he wanted “to learn valuable physical discipline”.Ryan also adds that does it to stay in shape for the next football season in the fall. Ryan has helped the Beckham community better understand what it’s like to be a member part of the wrestling team.
